An ancient Italian scenthound of noble appearance with medium-sized, athletic build and distinctive hound features. Bred for speed and endurance in hunting, the breed comes in two coat varieties: shorthaired (pelo raso) and wirehaired (pelo forte), renowned for exceptional scenting ability.
